I'm Keith Bellomo, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). My approach to therapy is client-centered and skills-based, providing a welcoming environment for clients to improve on areas such as emotion regulation, interpersonal communication, career development, and coping with the stresses of everyday life. My Story
Understanding the challenges of mental health involves recognizing the complexity and diversity of every individual's unique experience. As a therapist specializing in general mental health issues, I find great fulfillment in aiding individuals in navigating life's challenges.
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Rutgers University. I also hold a Master of Education degree in secondary English education, which launched my career in the counseling and guiding profession years earlier.
Central to my approach are evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Through CBT, clients learn to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, fostering healthier cognitive processes and behaviors. DBT, on the other hand, equips individuals with mindfulness techniques and interpersonal skills, empowering them to manage intense emotions and improve relationships. Witnessing my clients' growth and resilience as they apply these techniques in their daily lives is incredibly rewarding.
Each session is a collaborative journey, where I provide a safe and empathetic space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. While guiding clients through the process of understanding their emotions and behaviors, I help them develop practical strategies to cope with stressors and overcome obstacles. By fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and respect, I aim to empower individuals to become their own agents of change, capable of leading more fulfilling lives. While the path to healing may have its challenges, witnessing the transformation and progress of my clients reaffirms my dedication to this profession.
